Münster merged on October 1, 2004 with Geschinen to form the new municipality of Münster-Geschinen. This municipality integrates, on January 1, 2017, the municipality of Goms. Untouched nature is the greatest treasure of Goms. Hiking, walking, cross-country skiing, skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, ski touring, biking, mountaineering and cycling between 1200 and 4000 m altitude bring you closer to this nature . There have been gliding enthusiasts in Münster since the 1960s, who operate the former Münster VS airfield in the town and joined forces on March 31, 2001 to form the Münster airfield cooperative. Gliding events are organized in the summer months. Overlooking Münster, the Galmihornhütte offers breathtaking views of the upper Rhone Valley. In Obergoms there are 100 km of cross-country ski trails with extra tracks for skating and classic.
