Cinematic Vlog Shot on Fujifilm X-H2S and Tamron 17-70mm F2.8. My video kit for this Tokyo trip, FUJIFILM X-H2S Tamron 17-70mm F2.8 ============================= It’s been three years since I last traveled to Tokyo. In October 2022, I took a vacation to Tokyo for 5 days, and traveled to Kawaguchiko to take some photos of . Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day at the area, and I am only able to capture some shots of the autumn leaves and red Kochia bushes. It’s the first time I use my Fujifilm X-H2S for vacation, and I decided to bring only one travel zoom lens, the Tamron 17-70mm F2.8. It’s much easier to travel with only one zoom lens, and best of all, I can shoot at F2.8 in low light environment like the viewing deck at Shibuya Sky during the night. In my experience of using the Tamron 17-70mm lens for the trip, I found the size of the lens to be pretty big, and it drew the attention of the people around me. For image quality, the lens can deliver very sharp detail at F4 to F8 aperture. I mostly shoot at F5.6 in daytime, with a variable ND filter attached to it. One feature I really like about the Fujifilm X-H2S is the open gate recording mode. open gate is very useful for capturing landscapes, as I can crop and zoom the shot in post production. One more thing, I shot in F-Log2 for most of the landscape shots for more flexibility in tweaking the shadows and highlights in post. During the trip, I also shot 35mm film with my Contax G and the Zeiss 28mm F2.8 lens. This combo is great for taking snapshots on-the-go. I use a Kodak Portra 400 film.
