The Boat Used to Take Down Drug Runners: SAFE Boats Interceptor 41 Walk-through

To chase down drug runners and human traffickers, the Department of Homeland Security’s Air and Marine Operations uses a purpose-built vessel that is capable of high speeds, quick maneuvers and running at night with no lights on. The 41-foot SAFE Boats Interceptor offers the agents a stable platform so they can chase down boats in any conditions, at any time of day or night. Power & Motoryacht joined the Air and Marine Ops for a day on the water out of Miami, Florida, and got to see this vessel up close and personal. If you’ve ever wondered about the boats you see patrolling the U.S. borders, check out this video. We were very impressed with the handling, construction and thought put into this vessel.
