Giant isopods are the largest known members of the isopod family, a group of crustaceans closely related to shrimps and crabs. They mostly found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. These creatures live between 550 and 7000 feet deep, however, there is a probability that some live deeper in colder waters. Most isopods prefer clay or mud where they also find shelter and hide from predators.
